From Thirza:
I spent my entire childhood moving from place to place. When my family arrived in Yakima in July of 1963 I had already attended 10 different schools. West Valley High School would be my school for the next four years. I have very fond memories of those years. It might not surprise you to learn that I have lived in the same house in Bellingham for the past 31 years! My husband Dick and I (37th aniversary this December) have raised three fine children and now enjoy two granddaughters. Our son David is a musician and runs a flute studio in Bellingham. He graduated from Central with a degree in flute performance. He and his wife (a musician also) are expecting their first child next May. Our oldest daughter Anna married while living in Bangkok. She and our 5 year old granddaughter live in Seattle now while she finishes her last year at the U of W. Our youngest daughter Mollie and husband live in Snohomish. They blessed us with a new granddaughter last winter. Mollie will graduate from Western this next spring. Dick and I are both still working. We closed down our sporting goods store when the mall arrived in the 90's. Dick works with investments and commercial real estate. I continue to teach at an elementary school in the county. I will probably never retire since I stayed home for 10 years while the kids were little. I don't regret it, but do wish I had more time to quilt. We try to get away to our cabin just up the mountain from Colville. (I even saw a sign once when Andy Braff was running for Judge or something!) It is on the Little Pend Oreille lakes and is truly a cabin, with an outhouse, no TV, no internet, no phone!!! The most serene place I know. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the reunion as I will be at a conference that weekend. I'll take a moment to think of all of you on Saturday evening. My now picture is actually from five years ago. It seems all the pictures on my computer are of the kids and granddaughters. Couldn't find even one of my husband of me :) With a little luck and good health maybe I will see you all at the 50th!
